Why choose this
A cup made for matcha lattes at home. Grind the sugar and matcha together with the wooden grinder, add frothed milk, and the smell alone is worth the two minutes. A small ritual for a busy day, in its own gift box.
The cup comes in its own box.
By Shinzangama Yamatsu in Toki, Gifu. The colours are old Japanese names: Kurumizome, a walnut-dye brown; Akebono, a dawn pink with a touch of orange, loved in the Meiji era; and Asagi-nezumi, a soft blue gray.
Glaze drips, iron specks and pinholes can occur, and the grinder's leather strap darkens with use.
