About the shop

Good things become part of your day.

Some things stay with you. The cup you reach for every morning. The bowl that has been at a hundred dinners. The little dish someone gave you years ago, which still makes you smile.

For many years I have been learning what makes an object worth keeping, searching across countries and small shops, and slowly becoming more particular about what I bring home. Japanese and Nordic design shaped my eye most of all: thoughtful forms, natural textures, and a pattern or colour that makes you look twice.

Fikahibi is where I get to share that. I’m very selective. I choose every piece myself, and most of what I see never makes it here. What does is useful, well made, and quietly beautiful, the kind of thing you will still be reaching for years from now.

I think of objects as quiet keepers of memory. A cup holds every slow morning it has been part of; a plate remembers the people around the table. My hope is that something from here brightens your ordinary days, and gathers good memories of its own.

New pieces arrive a few at a time, often in very small numbers, so when something sells out it may not come back.

The name brings together fika, the Swedish tradition of pausing for coffee and company, and hibi, Japanese for “everyday”: a little more joy in the life you already live.

I hope something here becomes a favourite of yours.
